Talking-Buddy® SMS Consent Disclosure
Last updated: June 8, 2026 · Version: 1.2.6.0
Summary
Talking-Buddy uses SMS to support account security and customer care. If you opt in, you agree to receive SMS messages from Talking-Buddy related to verification (OTP), account/security notifications, support follow-ups, and service updates.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
Important note about purchase: Consent is not required to make a purchase. However, SMS may be required for account verification/security when users choose phone-based sign-in. (If marketing messages are ever offered, they will be optional and not required to use the service.)
How Users Opt In (Our Workflow)
Users opt in to receive SMS messages during sign-up (web or mobile app). We do not send SMS messages to users who have not opted in, except where SMS is initiated by the user as part of account verification/security.
Users who provide consent in-app (or as part of verification) are related to account security and customer care/service communications.
Proof of Opt-In (Screenshot)
The screenshots below show the SMS consent checkbox presented during sign-up. The checkbox is unchecked by default, and the user must check it to opt in.
Types of Messages You May Receive
- Verification & Security: One-time passcodes (OTP) and account/security notifications.
- Customer Support: Responses and follow-ups to support inquiries (customer care).
- Service Updates: Operational updates related to app features or service availability.
Carrier Authorization for Fraud Prevention (Silent Network Authentication)
By providing your phone number and using the Talking-Buddy app, you authorize your wireless carrier to use or disclose information about your account and your wireless device, if available, to AHAN Apps LLC or its service provider for the duration of your business relationship, solely to help them identify you or your wireless device and to prevent fraud. See our Privacy Policy for how we treat your data.
Multiple Toll-Free Numbers
Talking-Buddy may use different toll-free numbers for different messaging purposes (for example, one for OTP/security and another for customer care). The same opt-in principles apply: users provide consent during sign-up/in-app interactions, and users can opt out at any time by replying STOP.
Marketing / Promotional Messages
This SMS consent workflow is intended for account security and customer care/service communications. We do not send unsolicited promotional/cold marketing messages. If marketing messages are introduced in the future, we will request separate, explicit marketing consent.
Opt-Out and Help
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, you may receive a final confirmation message and will no longer receive SMS messages unless you opt in again.
For help, reply HELP.
